Information For Authors

For publication, authors must contribute original texts, unpublished and not being evaluated in another journal. In case of any inconvenience, justify it in "Comments to the editor". The journal accepts papers with 1 or 2 or 3 authors. All authors must be registered in the Journal. The authors have the possibility to voluntarily choose to be ad hoc evaluators, simply by selecting the option name of the register. Authors and ad hoc reviewers must register with NJINGA & SEPÉ Journal and must have an ORCID number (https://orcid.org/) which must be informed in the field indicated on the electronic form.

NJINGA & SEPÉ JOURNAL REQUIRES NO RATES. IT IS FREE IN ALL PROCESSES.

1. Technical conditions:

a) Text written in Microsoft Word format (* .doc or * docx). The video for sign languages ​​must be in AVI or WMV or MP4 format.

b) URLs for the references were informed when possible.

c) The texts of the sections will be formatted as follows: Arial, size 12, spacing 1.5, the sheet with 3cm on the left margin and 2cm on the remaining margins and should not be paginated.

About sections

Authors can write the texts taking into account one of the sections:

Section I - Unpublished articles and translations / interpretations: They should have 8 to 20 pages, including post-textual elements (if any).

Section II - Interviews, book reviews: Should be 3 to 8 pages long

Section III - Poetry and Lyrics of popular songs: They should have 3 to 8 pages

Section IV - Experience reports, photos, recipes for traditional foods, rites and festivities: Should be 3 to 8 pages long

Section V - Proverbs, taboos and myths: They should be 3 to 8 pages long.

d) All citations and references must respect one of the rules: APA or ABNT (updated versions)

2. Formatting of the article to be submitted for evaluation

a) Pre-textual elements:

Title I: (Only the first capital letter, bold) abstract (200 to 300 words) and 3 to 5 keywords in the language of the text.

Translation II of the title: The title, abstract and 3 to 5 keywords translated into the foreign language.

Translation III of the title: The title, summary and 3 to 5 keywords translated into an African or Brazilian indigenous language.

The abstract (from 200 to 300 words) must present the object / subject / theme, the problem, the hypotheses, the objectives, the methodology and the main conclusions. All abstracts will be formatted with single spacing in a single paragraph. The names of the authors, institutional affiliation and emails will be written in the “Metadata” of the submission form.

b) Textual elements:

Introduction or Initial Considerations (Situates the reader giving the general panorama; Offers a global view of the study; Clarifies, delimits the approach to the subject; Presents objectives (general and specific); Presents the justification and relevance of the research; Highlights the methodology; Presents the structure of the article.

Development: Sections and subsections of the text (if any): definition of concepts, debates, justification of ideas, etc. Methodology, presentation, analysis and discussion of data.

Conclusions or Final Considerations: the research findings are presented, the starting question is answered by confirming or refuting hypotheses; there is a tying of ideas and verification of compliance with the objectives. Avoid bringing new ideas.

c) Post-textual elements: References (Choose only one standard: APA or ABNT). The choice of the two standards is justified by the fact that it is an International Magazine and also by the fact that these two standards are more widely circulated in Brazil and Africa. Attachments (third party materials) and appendices (author's materials), if any, are optional.

3.Internal structure of the text

a) Illustrations: figures, graphs, charts and tables must have title and indication of their source. When they have been produced by the author himself, it must include “Source: own elaboration”. The font must be positioned below the illustration.

b) Notes: explanatory notes should be avoided and if used they should appear as a footnote throughout the text in Arabic numerals.
c) All words and expressions that are not part of the language of the article must be in italics.
d) The titles of the sections and subsections must be numbered with Arabic numerals, in bold and with the first letter in uppercase.
e) In the text, the title of works titles must come in double quotation marks, capitalized only at the beginning, except in the case of proper names.

Translations or Interpretations of articles will follow the rules of the original article.

For interviews, book reviews, Poetry and Lyrics of popular songs, Stories of experiences, photos, recipes for traditional foods, rites and festivities, Proverbs, taboos and myths will follow the following guidelines: The title in language 2, keywords and abstract (200 to 300 words). Title in language 3, keywords and abstract. This translation must be in an African or indigenous Brazilian language

Final References

Each author must choose which standard to use. When choosing, you must strictly follow the rules of this chosen standard. It can be APA (American Psychological Association (APA) - 6th edition) or ABNT respecting the latest updates of each standard.

About sign languages

Structure: The signed presentation of the article will have to announce the title, the introduction, the development (theoretical foundation, methodology, analysis) and the conclusions.

The video must be sent with a summary in any language. If the language has standardized writing, you can write the abstract in that language. Abstracts will have 250 to 300 words, Arial, 12, single spacing and article references. The written text and the video should be sent to the journal's general email: revista.njinga.sape@unilab.edu.br
