Abstract

This article studies, taking into account the principles of structuralist phonology, the way in which the anthroponyms ngangela are integrated into the Portuguese produced in Cuando Cubango (PCC), with a view to contributing to the phonetic-phonological characterization of Angolan Portuguese (PA). . The aim is, in general, to describe, phonetically and phonologically, the variant of Portuguese from Cuando Cubango with a view to the dialectological characterization of Portuguese from Angola and, specifically, (i) to identify and classify the sounds (phones) of the ngangela anthroponyms integrated into the PCC; (ii) identify the phonemes realized in the ngangela anthroponyms integrated in the PCC and (iii) characterize the phonological behavior of the segments (phonemes) that constitute the ngangela anthroponyms integrated in the PCC. To carry it out, the corpus constructed by Tchimbali (2017) was reused to analyze anthroponyms in the Ngangalá language. This is, therefore, a study, from a methodological point of view, in which documentary research of secondary sources was used as a technique to achieve the objectives (Marconi & Lakatos, 2010).The result was (i) the construction of a Table with the phonetic identification and classification of the vowel sounds of anthroponyms; (ii) the construction of a Table with the phonetic identification and classification of consonant sounds and (iii) the presentation or construction of a Table with the phonological transcriptions of anthroponyms. It was generally observed that the Ngangela anthroponyms are integrated into the PCC, sometimes preserving the phonetic-phonological structure of Ngangela and sometimes adapting to the structure of LP (Standard variant).
