With this work of philological study on the Citwsha language, which incorporated not only linguists, translators but also lawyers, more than translating law nº 29/2009 - Law on Domestic Violence practiced on Women - into the most spoken language in the province of Inhambane, South of the Republic of Mozambique, it was intended, through the application of a socio-linguistic survey to speakers of this language, to propose new lexemes that have no correspondence in Citwsha, thus contributing to the dissemination of information, making it reach all citizens, including those who do not speak the Official Language, Portuguese. In parallel to these objectives, we have produced a mini-glossary that essentially aims to accommodate lexical units of the Portuguese language that do not find their counterpart in the Citshwa language. The strategy used was to create a new word, adequate to what is intended to be communicated, filling the vocabulary gap, with the use of semantic, lexical and syntactic neologisms or since the document is for a general public with different levels of education and information, it becomes imperative to use a simplified and common language. We consider, after carrying out the work, that we have reached the proposed objectives. However, we are aware that this study is also a starting point for ourselves and for all those who wish to discuss the effectiveness of these translations. We hope to extend our study to the other Bantu languages of Inhambane. If new data shows that this approach is inadequate, it should be abandoned and new forms of explanation sought. Sometimes, even the proposal of a deficient and refutable perspective can shed light on an aspect hitherto poorly understood.
