Publicado em 2018 no Journal of Social Science Education (JSSE), volume 17, número 4, o artigo “Language and citizenship education in postcolonial Mozambique” de autoria de Feliciano Chimbutane, coloca no centro do debate as questões de política da língua, explorando a interface da língua, educação e cidadania em Moçambique, com referência especial ao papel da educação e das ideologias da língua na formação do cidadão ideal no contexto pós-colonial. Com o estudo apresentado, o autor expõe as injustiças sociais associadas à língua. Portanto, este artigo constitui uma continuidade do texto “Education and citizenship in Mozambique: Colonial and postcolonial perspectives1” publicado no mesmo ano. Feliciano Chimbutane é Professor Associado em Sociolinguística Educacional no Departamento de Linguística e Literatura da Faculdade de Letras e Ciências Sociais da Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Maputo, Moçambique.
