Keywords:
Gestão, Desafios, Gestão de Escolas BásicasAbstract
This article discusses the management of basic schools in Mozambique in an analytical manner, reflecting on the challenges in managing these schools as a fundamental part of understanding how management and training activities are being conducted based on the new model of the National Education System (SNE), aiming to verify whether the acquisition of skills for individual, social and collective life is being met. To this end, the management of schools established by Law 18/2018 was one of the ways to guarantee the right to education, so that citizens have the minimum level of education capable of creating conditions for gathering the knowledge necessary for a better life and reducing the illiteracy rate of the majority of the Mozambican population. The general objective of this research is to study the challenges that exist in the management of basic schools in Mozambique. The methodology used to prepare this article was a bibliographic review, complemented by exploratory conversations with principals from Namaua and Maputo, in the district of Mueda. The results showed that the lack of qualified human, material and financial resources, in addition to the absence of management training, are highlighted as the main challenges in the management of basic schools and this negatively affects the quality of management of basic schools in Mozambique.
