Ọ̀pọ̀ ìtàn ló ti ń parun nínú àká-ìtàn (archives) nítorí pé kò fi bẹ́ẹ̀ sí àwọn tí wọ́n fi ìlànà ìwádìí ṣe àkójọpọ̀ wọn sí ojú kan. Ìtàn nípa àṣà àti ìṣe àwọn ènìyàn tí wọ́n ti làmì-laaka, tí ó jẹ́ pé nípaṣẹ̀ agbára wọn àti ìfarajìn wọn ti tan ipa wọn ká orílẹ̀-àgbáyé ṣe pàtàkì gidi. Nítorí náà, àkósílẹ̀ ìtàn tí a ṣe lọ́jọ̀ lórí àwọn ìṣèlẹ̀ ṣe pàtàkì, kì í ṣé fún títọ́jú ìwúlò àti pàtàkì wọn nìkan ṣùgbọ́n láti jẹ́ ẹ̀kọ́ fún àwọn ìran tí wọ́n ṣẹ́ kú àti àwọn tí a kò tíì bí. Àwọn àkókò Ọ̀ba Adéṣòkejì Adérèlé àti Ìbídàpọ̀ Adésànóyè, gẹ́gẹ́ bí akọni Ọ̀ba Òṣemàwé ní Oǹdó ṣe pàtàkì, wọ́n sì yẹ́ fún ìrántí. Àwọn ọba méjèèjì náà ṣe ìranlọ́wọ́ púpọ̀ sí ìdàgbàsókè ìlú Oǹdó. Ọ̀ba Adéṣòkejì Adérèlé ló pẹ́ jù lọ lórí àpèré Òṣemàwé láti ìgbà tí wọ́n ti dá oyè ọba jíjẹ sílẹ̀ ní ọdún 1516AD, nígbà tí Ọ̀ba Adésànóyè pa ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn èèwọ̀ rẹ́ láì fi ọ̀tá pè lójúnà láti mú kí ìlú náà o túbọ̀ gbòòrò si. Ìwádìí yìí ṣe àmúlò ọgbọ́n ìṣèwádìí méjì, àkọ́kọ́ ni ṣíṣe àkójọpọ̀ ìtàn àtẹnudẹ́nu láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn abẹ́nà-ìmọ̀ ní ìlú Oǹdó. Èkejì ni ṣíṣe àmúlọ̀ àwọn ìwé tí ó wúlò fún iṣẹ́ yìí. Àwọn ìwé bíi; ìwé ìrántí, àwọn àkójọ ìwé-ìròyìn, ìwé ní orí ìtàkùn ayélujára (Internet) àti àwọn àkọ́sílẹ̀ inú àká-itan. Àwọn àkójọ-èdè fáyẹ̀wò yìí ni a fi ọgbọ́n ajẹmọ́-ìtúpalẹ̀ yẹ̀ wò, tíọ́rì àwọn akọni nlá àti ti ìtọ́sọ́nà olórí àtúnse la lò láti fi ṣòdiwọ̀n fún àtúpalẹ̀. Àbájáde iwadi si fi ye wa wi pe, awon akoni wonyii ṣe gudugudu méje àti yààyàà mẹ́fà lójúnà áti ṣe ìdàgbàsókè fun ilu Ondo lọ́na tí ó gbónje f’ẹ́gbẹ́ tó si tun gba àwo bọ̀. Muita história está se perdendo nos arquivos devido à escassez de pessoas que a tenham reunido em um único local utilizando métodos de pesquisa. A história dos costumes e práticas de pessoas que viveram e morreram — cuja força e dedicação disseminaram sua influência pelo mundo — é de grande importância. Portanto, o registro histórico de eventos é fundamental, não apenas para preservar sua utilidade e relevância, mas também para servir de lição tanto para as gerações passadas quanto para as que ainda virão. As épocas do Rei Adesokeji Aderele e da Confederação Adesanoyce, bem como a do heroico Rei Oshemawwe em Ondo, são importantes e dignas de memória. Ambos os reis contribuíram significativamente para o desenvolvimento de Ondo. O Rei Adesokeji Aderele foi o governante que mais tempo permaneceu no poder na dinastia Oshemawwe desde a instituição do título de rei em 1516 d.C. — época em que o Rei Adesanoyce aboliu diversas proibições, permitindo a expansão da cidade sem atrair inimigos. Este estudo empregou dois métodos de pesquisa: o primeiro consistiu na coleta de histórias orais junto a estudiosos de Ondo; o segundo, no levantamento de documentos relevantes, tais como memórias, artigos de jornal, livros disponíveis na internet e registros históricos. Esse material foi analisado por meio de um método analítico, utilizando a teoria dos grandes heróis e os princípios norteadores do editor-chefe como critérios de avaliação. Os resultados revelaram que esses heróis realizaram sete e seis grandes avanços, respectivamente, na trajetória de desenvolvimento e progresso de Ondo, de maneira benéfica e gratificante. O trabalho sugere que a sociedade dedique atenção especial a esses heróis, para que o legado daqueles que nos precederam não seja em vão.

holds a B.A, M.Phil. (History), Diploma in French proficiency degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and PhD degree from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He specializes in African history, culture and identity. Many of his works has featured in reputable Journal outlets such as Google Scholar, ORCID, LinkedIn etc.
