Iṣẹ́ ìwádìí yìí wo ìtumọ̀ akọni ní àwùjọ Yorùbá. Iṣẹ́ yìí ṣe ìtúpalẹ̀ ìtàn akọnibìnrin Mọrèmi, ipa ribiribi tí ó kó nínú ètò ọrọ̀-ajé, ètò ìṣèlú àti ètò amúlùúdùn ní àwùjọ Ilé-Ifẹ̀. O foco deste estudo é o papel inesquecível desempenhado pela heroína Moremi em sua comunidade, Ile-Ife (Nigéria), e como essas ações se refletem no papel que as mulheres africanas desempenham em suas comunidades atualmente. A pesquisa examina o significado da figura da heroína na sociedade iorubá, analisando a história de Moremi e o papel fundamental que ela desempenhou nos sistemas econômico, político e social de Ile-Ife. Além disso, o estudo detalha o propósito e o poder empregados por Moremi para libertar o povo de Ile-Ife do cativeiro imposto pelos Igbo/Ugbo por muitos anos, até o retorno da paz à sociedade local. O trabalho também revela a percepção social sobre as mulheres e como a bravura de Moremi serve de exemplo para que as mulheres africanas contribuam significativamente para o desenvolvimento de suas sociedades. Três métodos de pesquisa foram utilizados: primeiramente, realizou-se uma leitura atenta da obra literária sobre Moremi para extrair seus elementos essenciais; em seguida, apresentou-se a história de Moremi conforme retratada na referida obra; por fim, entrevistaram-se quatro historiadores — localizados em Ile-Ife (Estado de Osun), Ofa (Estado de Kwara), Igbo (Úde-Úgbho) e Odode/Óde Idanre (Estado de Ondo) — para compreender a história da luta associada a ela. Esses estudos de caso foram analisados à luz da Teoria Econômica de Karl Marx e da Teoria do Feminismo/Etnicidade, que aborda a luta das mulheres e seu papel na sociedade. Os resultados confirmam que a natureza heroica das mulheres, retratada por dramaturgos iorubás na literatura, também se manifesta no mundo real. Isso demonstra que o status da mulher e seu papel na sociedade não foram negligenciados. O trabalho sugere que as mulheres africanas devem considerar o modelo de Moremi e utilizá-lo em prol do desenvolvimento de suas sociedades.
