O objetivo deste estudo é examinar os esforços da heroína Olufunmilaye Ransome-Kuti, na luta pelos direitos das mulheres em Egba, conforme retratado no documentário Funmilayo Ransome-kuti, dirigido por Bolanle Austen-Peters, utilizando a Teoria do Feminismo Marxista. É importante notar que a maioria dos estudos existentes sobre a teoria do feminismo e do anticolonialismo não tem dado muita atenção aos esforços das mulheres na luta por seus direitos contra os homens, como retratado no documentário, o que deixa uma lacuna importante que este estudo visa preencher. Portanto, ao examinar os esforços das heroínas lideradas por Olufunmilek Ransome-Kuti e a relação entre o poder político na luta contra a opressão, a exploração e a extorsão por governos coloniais, podemos encontrar algo novo para adicionar ao nosso conhecimento. Este trabalho utiliza duas estratégias de pesquisa diferentes. A primeira é compilar um conjunto abrangente de situações em que as ferramentas de resistência e de resistência ao colonialismo são utilizadas no filme Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. A segunda estratégia de pesquisa consiste em utilizar artigos relevantes para este estudo, como livros, periódicos, documentos históricos e recursos online relacionados ao ativismo marxista, às lutas das mulheres nigerianas e à história colonial. Esses textos foram analisados sob a perspectiva da teoria do ativismo marxista. Os resultados deste estudo demonstram que o cenário do filme evoca os esforços heroicos da protagonista Olufunmilek Rasome-Kutì e o papel das mulheres na luta tributária das mulheres Egba sob o domínio colonial. Mostra também que a participação feminina é uma forma de libertação da dominação masculina opressora. Esta pesquisa contribui para o conhecimento da análise do cinema iorubá, com foco no papel e na condição da mulher na sociedade. Auxilia ainda na compreensão dos significados ocultos da luta. Este trabalho também contribui para o entendimento da relação entre a resistência marxista e os eventos presentes no cinema nigeriano, levantando a questão da proteção dos direitos das mulheres no cinema negro.
