Este estudo aborda a centralidade da família na aquisição da Libras na constituição linguística e identitária da criança surda. O objetivo é analisar como o envolvimento familiar influencia o desenvolvimento da linguagem, da cognição e da inclusão social. A relevância da pesquisa reside na necessidade de ampliar o debate sobre o papel da família na promoção de ambientes linguísticos acessíveis desde a infância. A fundamentação teórica se baseia em Goldfeld (2002), Carvalho e Santos (2016), Vilela e Martins (2019), entre outros autores que convergem na defesa da Libras como condição para o desenvolvimento linguístico e identitário das pessoas surdas. A metodologia consiste em um estudo de natureza qualitativa, de caráter bibliográfico, com análise crítica da literatura da área. Os resultados indicam que a ausência de acesso precoce à Libras e o desconhecimento da língua por parte das famílias ouvintes geram barreiras comunicativas que impactam negativamente o desenvolvimento linguístico e social. Em contrapartida, o envolvimento familiar e a exposição precoce à Libras favorecem a construção da identidade, a autonomia e a inclusão da pessoa surda.

Utafiti huu unashughulikia umuhimu wa familia katika kupata Libra (Lugha ya Ishara ya Brazil) katika malezi ya lugha na utambulisho wa watoto viziwi. Lengo ni kuchambua jinsi ushiriki wa familia unavyoathiri maendeleo ya lugha, utambuzi, na ushirikishwaji wa kijamii. Umuhimu wa utafiti upo katika hitaji la kupanua mjadala kuhusu jukumu la familia katika kukuza mazingira ya lugha yanayoweza kufikiwa tangu utotoni. Mfumo wa kinadharia unategemea Goldfeld (2002), Carvalho na Santos (2016), Vilela na Martins (2019), miongoni mwa waandishi wengine wanaoungana katika kuwatetea Libra kama sharti la maendeleo ya lugha na utambulisho wa viziwi. Mbinu hii ina utafiti wa ubora, wa kibiblia wenye uchambuzi muhimu wa fasihi katika uwanja huo. Matokeo yanaonyesha kwamba ukosefu wa ufikiaji wa mapema wa Libra na ukosefu wa ujuzi wa lugha kwa upande wa familia zinazosikia hutoa vikwazo vya mawasiliano ambavyo vinaathiri vibaya maendeleo ya lugha na kijamii. Kinyume chake, ushiriki wa familia na kufichuliwa mapema na Libra (Lugha ya Ishara ya Brazil) kunakuza ujenzi wa utambulisho, uhuru, na ushirikishwaji wa viziwi.
