O trabalho realizado teve como objetivo traduzir e interpretar o poema “O Bicho”, de Manuel Bandeira, para a Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras), ampliando o acesso à literatura e promovendo inclusão cultural para estudantes surdos. A relevância da atividade está na possibilidade de proporcionar ao público surdo uma experiência estética completa, valorizando a Libras como língua de expressão artística e fortalecendo o letramento visual. A fundamentação teórica baseou-se nos princípios modernistas presentes no poema, caracterizado pela crítica social e pela linguagem direta, além dos estudos sobre tradução intermodal, que destacam o uso do espaço, das expressões faciais e dos classificadores na construção do sentido. A metodologia incluiu a leitura e análise do poema, a elaboração de uma proposta de sinalização e a prática em sala, permitindo que os alunos compreendessem a obra de forma mais sensível. Como resultados, observou-se maior envolvimento dos estudantes, que reconheceram a força da mensagem do poema por meio da visualidade. Conclui-se que a tradução para Libras fortalece a acessibilidade literária e enriquece o processo educativo.
