Christ and the revolutionary process in Angola

This article endeavors to elucidate the stance embraced by Protestant churches amidst the anti-colonial struggle in Angola spanning from 1961 to 1975. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the missionary expansion in Angola, particularly highlighting the advent of Protestantism in the region. Subsequently, it delves into the intricate dynamics between Protestant missions and nationalist movements, ultimately leading to the Portuguese government's reaction, characterized initially by the suppression of individuals affiliated with liberation movements and subsequently by the shuttering of numerous Protestant missions across the country. The review of pertinent scholarly literature will serve as the methodological underpinning to substantiate our inquiry.
