Abstract

Ọ̀kan-ò-jọ̀kan ni àwọn ayẹyẹ ajẹmáṣà Yorùbá, bákan náà sì ni gbogbo àwọn ayẹyẹ wọ̀nyí ni wọn ni àbùdá ajẹmọ́ ìbọ àti ẹ̀sìn. Èyí tùnmọ̀ sí pé wọn kì í ṣe àgbékalẹ̀ ayẹyẹ tàbí ìṣàfihàn àṣà lasan; wọ́n kó ipa pàtàkì nínú ètò ẹ̀sìn, ìbágbépọ̀ àwùjọ, àti ètò ìṣèlú, to bẹ́ẹ̀ tí wọn jẹ́ ọkàn gbòógì lára àwọn ohun tí o so ìbáṣepọ̀ àwùjọ ró. Ọ̀kan pàtàki jùlọ lára àwọn ayẹyẹ wọ̀nyí ni Gẹ̀lẹ̀dẹ́, èyí tí o jẹ́ ayẹyẹ ìbọ́láfún agbára àwọn obìnrin, pàápàá jùlọ àwọn ìyá, tí ó sì ń ṣiṣẹ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí irinṣẹ́ àtúnṣe àwùjọ nípa ríri dájú pé ìdọ́gba wa nínú ìbágbépọ̀ àti àjọṣepọ̀ àwùjọ. Iṣẹ́ ìwadìí yìí lo fíìmù Àràmòtù láti fi ìdí rẹ̀ múlẹ̀ pé ó ṣeé ṣe láti lo fíìmù tí wọn gbé jáde ni èdè abinibi láti ṣe ìpamọ́ ìtàn àti àṣà, kí ó sì tún ṣe àfihàn ipa àwọn akínkanjú obìnrin ni ilẹ̀ Afíríkà. Nípa ṣíṣe àgbéyẹ̀wò fíìmù Àràmọ́tù iṣẹ́ ìwádìí yìí ṣe ìtọpinpin bí fíìmù ṣe máa ń ṣe àmúlò oníruuru iṣẹ́ ọnà àtinúdá gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀nà ìṣàgbékalẹ̀ ìjákinkanjú àti ìṣàfihàn àwọn ohun ìjìnlẹ̀ àjẹmọ́-abínibí. Os festivais iorubás compartilham uma mesma natureza, possuindo todos eles uma dimensão religiosa e cerimonial. Isso significa que não se trata apenas de demonstrações cerimoniais ou culturais; eles desempenham um papel fundamental nos sistemas religiosos, sociais e políticos, constituindo uma parte essencial da trama das relações sociais. Um dos festivais mais importantes é o Gẹ̀ledẹ̀, uma celebração do empoderamento feminino — especialmente das mães — que atua como instrumento de reforma social ao assegurar a igualdade nas relações e interações sociais. Esta pesquisa utiliza o filme *Aramottu* para demonstrar a viabilidade de se empregar obras cinematográficas produzidas em línguas indígenas na preservação da história e da cultura, bem como para evidenciar o papel da mulher na África. Ao analisar *Aramottu*, o estudo explora como o cinema recorre a diversas formas de expressão artística criativa para apresentar e manifestar valores indígenas. O trabalho também aborda o debate surgido em torno do Gẹ̀ledẹ̀ sobre a maneira como a cultura iorubá celebra o profundo poder espiritual feminino, ao mesmo tempo em que, por vezes, compromete o papel e a imagem da mulher na sociedade iorubá. *Aramottu* examina e apresenta essa faceta em detalhes; por isso, este projeto de pesquisa utiliza o filme para destacar o papel relevante que as produções cinematográficas iorubás podem desempenhar na transformação da percepção e da representação da cultura, religião e história iorubás — particularmente no que diz respeito às heroínas iorubás —, contribuindo também para a difusão dessa história e cultura em escala global.

Tolúlọ́pẹ́ ÌBÍKÚNLÉ , Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages National Institute for Nigerian Languages Aba, Nigeria

obtained her PhD in Film Studies from the department of linguistics and African Languages, University of Ibadan. M.A in Yoruba Literature from the University of Ibadan and B.A. in Yoruba Language from the University of Ilorin. She teaches Yorùbá and Linguistics at the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages in the National Institute for Nigerian Languages, Aba. She specializes in Yoruba cultural studies, Nollywood studies, translation and second language acquisition. She has authored a number of articles on Yoruba film and culture in scholarly journals and reputable books within and outside Nigeria.
