Este artigo discute a semântica lexical na Libras, com foco nos fenômenos de polissemia, sinonímia e antonímia. Parte-se da perspectiva de língua enquanto sistema, na qual os signos linguísticos se definem pelas relações que estabelecem entre si (Saussure, 1916). O problema central da pesquisa é a dependência da Libras em relação ao português, especialmente quando sinais são interpretados apenas como traduções de palavras, gerando vieses semânticos (Leite et al., 2022). Como objetivo, o estudo propõe analisar sinais da Libras utilizando a própria língua como metalinguagem, buscando compreender seus significados em contextos reais de uso. Metodologicamente, são considerados contextos espontâneos produzidos por usuários proficientes, permitindo identificar diferentes relações semânticas, como polissemia, sinonímia e antonímia (Pietroforte; Lopes, 2007). Os resultados indicam que a análise baseada na Libras contribui para uma compreensão mais precisa e autônoma dos significados. Conclui-se que esse enfoque fortalece a autonomia linguística da Libras e amplia as possibilidades de estudo e ensino na área.

Cet article traite de la sémantique lexicale du Libras (langue des signes brésilienne), en s'intéressant aux phénomènes de polysémie, de synonymie et d'antonymie. Il part d'une perspective systémique, où les signes linguistiques sont définis par les relations qu'ils entretiennent entre eux (Saussire, 1916). La problématique centrale de cette recherche réside dans la dépendance du Libras au portugais, notamment lorsque les signes sont interprétés comme de simples traductions de mots, engendrant des biais sémantiques (Leite et al., 2022). L'étude propose d'analyser les signes du Libras en utilisant la langue elle-même comme métalangage, afin de comprendre leur signification dans des contextes d'utilisation réels. Sur le plan méthodologique, des contextes spontanés produits par des utilisateurs compétents sont considérés, permettant d'identifier différentes relations sémantiques, telles que la polysémie, la synonymie et l'antonymie (Pietroforte et Lopes, 2007). Les résultats indiquent que l'analyse fondée sur le Libras contribue à une compréhension plus précise et autonome des significations. Il ressort de cette approche que l'on constate qu'elle renforce l'autonomie linguistique du Libras (langue des signes brésilienne) et élargit les possibilités d'étude et d'enseignement dans ce domaine.
