Ètò ìṣirò aládàdé-méjì, gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ṣe rí i nínú àgbékalẹ̀ Odù Ifá, ni a ó lò fi ṣàlàyé bí Odù

Ifá ṣe ń hù jáde lójú ọpọ́n nígbà ti a bá dá ifá kalẹ̀. A lo ìmọ̀ ìgbàlódé bí ó ṣe wà nínú ẹ̀kọ́ tó jẹ́ mọ́ àdàdé-méjì, ìyẹn akọ àti abo (+ àti -) tí wọ́n lo èdè kọ̀ǹpútà kọ bá yìí: ‘I’ ati ‘0’. Ohun tó ń ṣẹlẹ̀ nínú ìmọ̀ ìgbàlódé tó jẹ́ mọ kọ̀ǹpútà ti ranirú àlàyé tí a lè ṣe nípa bí Odù Ifá ṣe ń hù. Àwọn baba mi ni ‘agbẹ́yìnkùlé-mọye-odù-tó-hù’. Inú kọ̀ǹpútà ló kù tí àwa yóò ti máa mọ Odù tó hù. A kò níí lo ‘II’ fún abo (-) nínú iṣẹ́ wa yìí ní ìbámu pẹ̀lú èdè tí kọ̀ǹpútà gbọ́. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ṣe mọ̀, abo mẹ́jọ àti akọ mẹ́jọ ló wà nínú ọ̀pẹ̀lẹ̀ àti àwọn ohun èlò mẹ́ta yòókù tí a lò fi ṣàlàyé Ifá dídá nínú iṣẹ́ yìí. Nítorí pé ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ènìyàn ni ẹ̀rù máa ń bà nígbà tí wọ́n bá rí ọ̀pẹ̀lẹ̀ ni a ṣe lo obì àbàtà, owó-ẹyọ àti owó pa-unpa-un-ṣílè fi ṣe ìwádìí nǹkan lọ́wọ́ Ifá. Àjọṣepọ̀ tó wà láàrin akọ àti abo yìí ló bí gbogbo ọ̀tà- lérúgba-ó-dín-mẹ́rin (256) Odù Ifá nígbà tí a bá ṣe àmúlùmọ́là Odù méjì àkọ́kọ́ tí a gbà pé àwọn ló bí Odù yòókù. Ogbèyẹ̣̀kú ni baba àmúlù. Èyí ni wọ́n ń kọ ní ọlọ́kọ̀ gbọọrọ bá yìí ní èdè kọ̀ńpútà: 0101010101010101. Wọ́n sì le tò wọ́n wá sílẹ̀ ní olóòró (àtòwálẹ̀) bí a ṣe rí i nínú Odù Ifá (“Permutation,” 2021).

Gbenga Fagborun (popularly known as Baba Joel on social media) is a professional linguist with Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil) in Language and Linguistic Science from the University of York, UK. He was awarded BA 1st Class Hons in Yoruba in 1982 from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife). He was awarded the most prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship in 1987 to study in the UK.
