The study aimed at assessing the Impacts of Natural Disasters in Urban Areas in Africa as a contribution to the preservation of public health. The same is of a bibliographic nature. With the study it was found that among the impacts of natural disasters in urban areas in Africa one can emphasize deaths , injuries , psychological stress , loss of crop fields and livestock , spread of diarrheal diseases and malaria due to precarious hygiene conditions and basic sanitation , extreme poverty , hunger , destruction of infrastructure such as schools , hospitals , destruction of coastal areas with a focus on mangroves , which endangers marine life and encourages erosion and flooding Due to lack of coping capacity and lack of adaptation capacity , these phenomena result in deaths and destruction of social infrastructure , especially schools , hospitals in urban areas of Africa , especially those located in the coastal and densely populated areas such as Beira , Quelimane , Nampula , Maputo, Durban and Dar es Salaam Note that urban vulnerability is different in terms of the composition of livelihoods and coping strategies in each African city.
