Agostinho Neto, a social poet
Agostinho Neto, an Angolan politician of great importance, was also a poet. The aim of this work is to analyze the phases of his poetic production and the relevance of such writing in relation to the comparison with the social evolution of Angola. To achieve this goal, each phase is examined from its general characteristics and its specific poems. The analytical interpretations are regulated by the colonial and independence historical situation, as well as by the awakening and resistance of the individual translated by a poetic social subject, tracing, through writing, a path that is divided into three stages: evocation, summoning and consolidation. To support the analysis of Agostinho Neto's poetic trajectory, theorists Alfredo Bosi and Antonio Candido, as well as specific studies organized with a focus on the political-poet's literary production, were listed as the basis for the interpretive sense.
